Our online training group that puts YOU in control.
When we take the time to put some thought into our training, making sure that we are clear on exactly what we’re trying to achieve, we are in a much better position to be able to communicate clearly with our dog.
The clarity we gain from thoughtful planning and training with purpose makes the process more enjoyable for both us AND our dogs.
It helps us understand how our dog learns, improves OUR training skills and creates tangible results.
Just as importantly (if not more so!) it also increases our dog’s desire to learn, to be with us, to work as a team, builds confidence and promotes mental wellbeing.
The Method
The idea behind Paws 4 Four is simple but powerful:
Train for 4 minutes a day, 4 times a week, with purpose.
As you build consistency, you can work towards training for 4 minutes at a time, 4 times a day, 4 times a week for even greater progress.
This method works because it’s manageable, consistent, and focused. By dedicating a few minutes of purposeful training each day, you’ll see how simple it is to create lasting results.
What Makes Paws 4 Four Different?
Paws 4 Four isn’t about me telling you what to train—it’s about you setting your own goals and intentions based on what matters most for your dog and your life. You decide the skills you want to work on, and I’m here to guide and support you along the way.
Here’s how it works:
Set your own goals: Each month, you’ll define your training priorities and break them down into achievable weekly goals.
Paws 4 Four is built around kind, thoughtful, and dog-centric training that respects your dog’s needs and helps you achieve a harmonious relationship with them.
4 minutes of training, 4 times a day, will foster a connection between you and your dog that will enrich and surprise you.
In the six months leading up to the operation, Vicki and the Paws 4 Four group helped me plan how to support Eadie (and myself) through bed rest and limited mobility. Vicki taught me name games with toys, and soon Eadie was retrieving everything from walking sticks to keys and leads.
We did fun tricks, worked on her discomfort with the harness, and tried all sorts of little activities.
Now, almost a year on, I’m pain-free. I didn’t realise how much pain I’d been in until it was gone, or how fearful I’d become of simply walking alone.
And today, Eadie and I jogged 5k over the Towans for the first time. A few things clicked:
1. I was running and not worried about the ditches or uneven ground.
2. Eadie was having the time of her life (and was definitely going to sleep well tonight).
3. And what Vicki’s been saying since Paws 4 Four started in August 2024 finally clicked for me: those four-minute sessions, four times a day, had built something special.
They created a connection with Eadie that means she’s truly with me. I’m more interesting than the rabbit tracks. I can whistle and she’ll break away from the other dogs to catch up. If I say “leave,” she’ll only have a quick roll in the fox poo before coming back!
All those little games and life skills we practised didn’t just enrich Eadie’s life or help us through a stressful recovery, they built the real win: our connection.
To everyone in this community who encouraged me to see someone about my ankle, thank you. I never would have considered there might be an alternative. I thought it was just something I had to live with. Your push and support changed my life.
And to anyone wondering if it’s worth it, those 4 minutes of training, 4 times a day, will foster a connection between you and your dog that will enrich and surprise you.”
