Bringing a puppy home is exciting, but it can also feel far harder and more overwhelming than people expect.
You love your puppy, and at the same time you’re trying to work out biting, overexcitement, settling, sleep, confidence, and how to help this tiny dog grow into the calm, happy companion you pictured. On top of that there’s so much advice out there telling you what you should and shouldn’t be doing that it all starts to feel like a lot. You don’t want to get it wrong. You don’t want to mess your puppy up. And sometimes it feels like you’re constantly managing your puppy rather than actually understanding them.
The truth is, puppies are learning from the world around them every minute, and what both of you usually need most is more chance to slow down, play, explore, think, sniff and learn together in a way that makes sense to the puppy in front of you.
Our Puppy Scent Workshop is a relaxed, playful introduction to scent work for puppies up to six months old. Through searching games, play, simple scent exercises and thoughtful puppy moments, your puppy gets to discover the world of scent while quietly building confidence, focus and resilience along the way.
Here, puppies are always treated as individuals, with a real focus on confidence, communication, emotional wellbeing and a genuine love of learning. Everything in the session is designed to help your puppy feel safe, curious and successful, and to help you understand them better. Through the games and a bit of gentle guidance, you start to learn when to step in, when to step back, and how to help your puppy make sense of the world.
Puppies take to scent work so naturally. As you watch yours search, problem solve and genuinely enjoy themselves, you often start to see a whole different side to them. Instead of feeling like you have to manage every moment, you begin to see just how much your puppy is capable of when they’re given the space to explore and think.
